Dr. Ferguson takes a lot of pride in his work and feels a real sense of accomplishment when his patients are happy with the care they received, especially if they were apprehensive or anxious at first. His goal with each patient is to not only provide high-quality dentistry, but a comfortable experience as well. Before you come to visit us at Auburn Dental Smiles, you can learn more about him below.
Why Did You Want to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Ferguson is the first member of his family to do anything in the medical field, and he didn’t decide to go on this route until he was already halfway through college! He may have considered it long before this, however, because while recently visiting his parents, his mom showed him a picture he drew in kindergarten of himself as a dentist, titled, “What I Want to Be When I Grow Up.”
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Ferguson double-majored in Cellular and Developmental Biology and Medical Anthropology at the University of California Irvine. During that time, he volunteered for medical trips and shadowed multiple dentists, and this eventually led him to enroll at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Since graduating, he has completed training in CAD/CAM dentistry and oral surgery, and he is also a member of the American Dental Association.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Originally from California, Dr. Ferguson is very happy with the life he now has in the PNW, and he spends the bulk of his free time hiking trails, trying new restaurants, and trying to stay in shape. He also likes doing routine maintenance on his car and fixing things around the house.
